I put him in the tub with his head on a hand towel. I shower and plug it so he can splash around in an inch or two of water. Of course this means the water is cooler than I like and I usually just use baby wash on both of us. </p> <p>I used to hold him while I showered, but he got so squirmy that I wasn't comfortable holding him. With him laying on the floor of the tub, the only slippery moment is when I pick him up to wrap him in a towel when all done. I totally had them in reusable swim diapers though. Toddler Girl showers with me in the mornings now because her hair is too curly to sleep on wet. Wonder Baby usually gets to be in the shower long enough for me to wash her hair and then is passed back out. I'd basically just plop her in the bottom of the tub to play with her toys while I washed. Once I was done, I'd sit on the bottom of the tub and wash her. Then I'd turn off the water and get out; DD would continue playing with her toys until I was dried and dressed, then I'd take her out.</p> <p>I've showered a couple times with DS (first time he was about 2 months), but it's not ideal, since he doesn't sit on his own yet. I started when I was able to start showering on my own again, about 4 weeks. He is 5 mos and still showers with me every week. We have a bathtub but he can't sit up yet and we never bought a baby tub. </p> <p>I bathed with my son when he was a new new baby. I could only take baths for the first month, and he just joined me. My husband was always with us too. I was too scared to stand up in the tub for fear of slipping with him. He loved "swimming" too!! I should do that again. I set him in something safe (car seat) in just a diaper and I shower myself and wash my hair. Then I get him and take off his diaper.</p> <p>If he is dirty, I run his bum under the tub tap first, then put it back on the shower head. You could do this in the sink, or the shower, or just use a wipe. I rinse him off (face on my shoulder, or protected by my shoulder). I just hold him with both arms, one hand sticking out. With the free hand I grab the baby soap/shampoo and lather him up. I rinse him slowly by turning around so he gets water when he is happy with it. If he looks like he's getting grumpy, I turn around and block the water with my back.<br /> He loves the water! Just... has to be a warm shower not a hot one.<br /> I put him in his towel and wrap him up and set him in the seat. I grab my towel and dry off and then put on his diaper and his robe. When DD was very little (like 9-12 months) I was able to get her into the shower with me once in a great while. Lately, though she refuses to get it. :( </p> <p>One time she had a big poop accident, and I tried to put her in the shower to clean her up; she cried the entire 2 minutes she was in there and then talked for a couple months about how she doesn't like the shower. I'd love for her to start using the shower again (since the bathroom with the tub is in between our room and DS's room, and it's inconvenient to bathe her if he goes to bed early), but I don't know how to get her to like it? She seems to really enjoy "swimming" in the big tub with me. I love it, too. The faces she makes are priceless. My husband plays what he calls lifeguard to make sure nothing goes wrong. :-) </p>
