I've heard of wonder weeks, but I'm not paying attention to them. I don't want to overthink things or have the expectation that she might be fussy. I just know that my LO goes through periods of fussiness now and then that probably do correspond with development and I leave it at that! :)

I don't know if it's because my son was born 6 weeks early and things are off, but I haven't really noticed wonder weeks. He gets real fussy before a big new skill, like crawling or pulling up.

Sort of... LO was born almost on his due date but they don't seem to match up very closely. I do see the developmental leaps, I just don't see the coinciding of their "sunny" days with our sunny days!

@bunnylove08: app is a lot cheaper and seems to have most of the same info...but I don't own the book :)

I definitely think there's some truth to them. I agree that they're fluid depending on the child, but for the most part I think they're spot on!

They seem spot on with the milestones he's reaching. But I feel like there's always an answer for weird fussy behavior ....when there might not be. That said, the last wonder week for T (which your M is now in) was sort of brutal. Sooo whiny.

Absolutely and they go on after the book/app stops. But I can see when they are happening and the only thing they do is keep me from thinking I am crazy.

@hilsy85: Agree completely, defintely feel the same way!

I don't really. My three girls have all developed at such different rates, with different temperments I think each child is so different. If I had believed in them my second would have always been in a wonder week, lol.

4 days into the 9month sleep regression - with next to no sleep last night, I am sold! It has really helped me that I knew this was coming. My husband has a hard time dealing with the twins crying at night and I told him 3 weeks ago (and kept reminding him) that this was coming, it would last 5 weeks and then be finished. I think he is managing this wonder week better than ever before.

I definitely believe in them - every time it seems like LO is really out of sorts I check out the book and boom, there's a developmental leap going on and she matches up with the symptoms.

Yup. LO has hit them all so far, starting on the day or up to 3 days ahead. She's at 18 1/2 weeks right now, so I'm curious to see if the 19 week one changes her from being her usual angel-baby self to something else.

I am also in the kind of camp. I mean, milestones are guidelines when you're speaking in terms of child development, so what one child accomplishes in week 5 another might accomplish in week 9.

Ehh....kind of? I feel like they're sooo vague and are always like "this wonder week may start around this week", but it could actually be a week before or a week after! I do think that there are developmental leaps that LOs make in generally the same pattern, so in that sense, I believe in them. But I think that they're very very fluid, according to the individual child! I also feel like when I don't know what's going on with LO, I can usually find a wonder week to blame, and that makes me feel a little better :)

I've never heard of that. When LO was a baby she had reflux so it was normal for her to be fussy. Then after she grew out of that she was old enough to teeth so I just blamed fussy on teething.

I've been really struggling the past few days over M's change in demeanor (my happy baby has turned into a crank-pants). She's not eating well, she's waking multiple times a night and she cries if she sees me and she's not touching me. It's been awful. I've been searching to find what could be wrong with her and finally came upon my Wonder Weeks app and found this. I'm hoping this is it and in another week or two, she'll be back to her happy go lucky self again.

Have you been through this? She will go back to being my happy girl again, right??
