We have a bathroom in the basement and I wash rainboots in there. It's right when we enter into the house via the garage. If you don't have any place to wash them downstairs, how about a backyard hose?

We have a sink in our garage so we can rinse them off but we also don't put our LOs boots on in the car. He's rear facing still so we don't want the ick to get into our seat.

I wash ours, but I have a sink in the mudroom for that purpose.
In your case I'd get designated outside shoes.

I have a utility sink in the laundry room, it's where I scrub my son's muddy shoes. The laundry connects to the garage, but on days when my son's shoes are really muddy, we also have plastic mats in the car on the floor.

You could always get a dish bin (you know those plastic square bins that you can put in the sink to wash dishes?) to transport them.

Ick! Warm weather has meant a mucky backyard playset - I'm dealing by sending my girls out in their rain boots....but then I still have to wash the boots off so that they can be worn in the car on rainy days! My laundry room is upstairs, so it's a pain hauling them upstairs, hoping they don't drip everywhere! (I know this sounds lazy, but I really hate mopping).

How do you resolve this issue? Separate yard shoes/boots that don't get worn anywhere else? Suck it up and wash the boots every time they go out? Something else I'm not thinking of?
