What she didn't realize was that we *DID* leave a tip, but it was on a different receipt (we divvied up the bill including tip &amp; then one person ended up with a small charge + large write in tip). And then they didn't even apologize. I don't even know why we waited that long, it's a huge pet peeve of mine -- just at least acknowledge that you see us and that you'll be right there. I can abide anything if I just know you see me. I can't think of anywhere else, though... except maybe Cheesecake Factory. Just because it really bothers me that they don't take reservations and waiting for a table is always god-awful. It's like 2 hours, and then you're seated practically in somebody else's lap. And these restaurants were repeat offenders!</p> <p>There are WAY too many good restaurants in our small city for me to spend my money at a restaurant that doesn't know good customer service. I'm fine with them making a mistake because it's okay to make mistakes. If they have bad customer service, I always give them the benefit of the doubt that they were having a bad day. If it continues, I might try to avoid that person. Or if it's really bad, write an email or fill out a comment form. I guess I'm too nice. Also, there are other factors, maybe the owners suck, maybe management suck or maybe they just got some really bad news. I guess I try not to judge a whole company based off of one employee.</p> <p>I did threaten to boycott one of the gas stations after the spill. One time, several years ago, we called for takeout. Went to pick it up and they didn't have our order. They insisted we must have called another store on the other side of town. We got there riiiight as they were closing and they didn't have our pizza either. He was SO pissed. Or gave us anything in return. Bad customer service!!! We've boycotted for about 5 years now.</p> <p>Second is a sushi place that is actually really really good. But they've messed up our orders in the past. Then the last time we placed a HUGE order and they ran the card twice! When we brought it up to them it was a huge fiasco . Boycott! This one my husband is most sad about because they have a roll he loves. But I refuse to give them any more of our business.</p> <p>The most recent one we boycotted is literally my favorite Indian restaurant. They make the most amazing chicken malai and garlic naan. The last time we ordered they messed up our order. We called to let them know and they would not do anything for us. Not an apology, nothing. Boycott.</p> <p>It sucks because we really like all these restaurants. But I believe a good restaurant is not only good food but also good customer service. There are so many great restaurants around here I refuse to give my money to one who doesn't know how to treat their customers!<br /> What about you?
