If you were closer, I'd say something sentimental like a print or an art book of your city could be thoughtful. I've done (and received) things like that as a group gift - particularly a book used as a guest book where other people write messages. I did get them like a $20 Starbucks gift card bc they were making a road trip out of their move cross country with two kids. Also, they gave us a whole bunch of outgrown toys, kids decor, etc that we appreciated so I wanted to show thanks. So a consumable (maybe if they're driving cross country a cool "care package" for the drive) OR a gift card they can use for the new house - lowes or target or something like that.<br /> ETA: I also wouldn't go overboard. Like $25. I just don't think this is something that is necessary, so a small token is nice. They have only lived in our city a few years, but they are moving away to the other side of the country. I'm not sure if it's standard to bring a gift or not or what we would give them. If it matters, we aren't close to them. While they lived here, they kept to themselves, so we rarely saw them. </p>
