I have a few sturdy ones I made myself out of canvas, and for my job I go to a lot of community outreach events where they give you a bag to hold all the pamphlets and things, but are very sturdy for groceries, too. For each bag you bring my grocery store gives you a discount of 10 cents.</p> <p>Though I might "forget" the next time we go to the store, we are almost out of plastic bags! I have it in my car and I had bought the Costco pack (one XL, one L, and one L cooler style) and love those. I usually bring the L one to the smaller markets so I don't have to have multiple bags to carry into the house. One time I went to Buy Buy Baby in MD and didn't know (more like forgot b/c I do remember hearing in the news a while back) that they charge for bags and noticed a charge on my receipt and I asked why they charged me for a bag and the lady said "it's the law." I said, "Well, I live in VA." I thought she should have asked me even if "it's the law." I was a little grumpy when I said it too. So I told her I didn't want the bag and to refund me the bag charge.
