We buy all sorts of cuts, but I prefer whole chickens since it’s easy to carve them (and get skinless cuts that way) without paying the added cost of buying skinless. Some chicken breast recipes are way better using bone-in, so I like to keep those around as well.

We make a lot of stock too and if you like chicken salad but are bored of the same type over and over again there are some great options for chicken salad, like adding curry powder, raisins and avocados. Or grapes or apples and slivered almonds.

I prefer the taste of bone in but it upsets DH's stomach so I have to buy boneless skinless. I think the bone in has much more flavor!

We usually buy boneless and skinless, but sometimes we get whole chickens because they're so much more cost-effective!

I buy a ton of different parts. I freeze the meat for all sorts of things. Enchiladas, mostly, but it's also great in sauces, soups, etc. My daughter also loves shredded chicken. I usually have chicken shredded in my fridge for lunches or for when dinner is something she doesn't like. It's such an easy protein for a toddler.

Boneless and skinless unless we make wings (which is rare), but I hate chicken with bone!

I usually buy boneless skinless chicken too, for ease of cooking at dinner time. When I want to make soup or stock I buy whole chickens, roast them for dinner and turn the leftovers into soup.

I either buy a whole chicken or boneless skinless, for variety with whole chicken we also use leftovers for quesadillas, nachos and bbq chicken sandwiches-I don't know if there is a variation of one of those things that might work with paleo or not.

ETA- How do you feel about beef broth? Our butcher will sell just the bones and while I haven't asked, I think our organic/grass fed farmer probably would too.

I only buy boneless/skinless breasts. I use bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs. They taste better and are more moist (plus cheaper), and especially good for the crock pot.

I normally purchase skin-less, and boneless. Only whole chicken I buy is a cornish hen, but that's so small it doesn't cound. It's just me and the hubby at home so a whole chicken, chicken is too much for us.

Almost always buy boneless/skinless - unless I am roasting a whole bird for some reason (which I really should do more often, it tastes WAY better)

Since I've been making massive amounts of chicken stock, it'd be great if I could collect bones in my freezer. I've just been buying a whole chicken and making it, but the meat is such a waste because I end up having to make massive amounts of chicken salad. I don't collect bones because I always buy skinless/boneless chicken thighs and breasts. I'm lazy even if it costs a little bit more!

Do you buy boneless and skinless?
