Otherwise it depends on what the appliance is and what the extended warranty covers. Like, if they're not going to cover normal wear and tear then no way will I purchase it. Luckily, it was still under the store's return policy. When we got the next one, we bought the extended warranty and we've already had the new one serviced twice. Appliances seem to break all the time on us so we wanted the reassurance. It was only a few hundred dollars.
