I got numerous free $50 gift cards for doing legal research and getting points, and just used those for amazon gift cards! Now that I've graduated and only have 5 books left on my Kindle I'm like eeer. I just found out you can check out e-books from your local library, so I'm signing up for that and will continue to buy when I get gift cards. I also download a lot of the free books that B&amp;N offers for the Nook (they do limited time free books on Fridays as well as the usual list of freebies).
