I look at the labels too and would prefer not to buy items made in China but sometimes you just can't avoid it. I have bought toys that were made in China before and will buy it if there is no other option. I definitely avoid buying food or snacks made in China though. It's funny how when I see a baby item made in USA, Canada, Europe, or Korea, Vietnam, or Thailand I get really happy.

I try not to. Too little regulation there.

I don't really worry about it. I just checked and LO's Little People airplane and Melissa & Doug toys are made in China.

I don't really worry about it, if it's a fun toy, I buy it.

I do but I never bought Mum Mums because they're made in China. Like @mamabear57, we also don't buy produce from China or really any foods.

I think once my LO stopped putting everything into her mouth I relaxed a lot more. I would probably avoid teethers but that's about it.

I didn't start buying LO toys that are made in China until he was 14 months (very limited qty), prior to that all of his toys were made in Europe or the USA. To this day, his selection of toys are limited (toys made in Europe are so expensive) because of the choice DH and I made about not buying toys from China. I'm Chinese as well, but when you read news about them putting melamine into the formula for babies in their own country, I just think to myself, what kind of things are they making children's toys out of? We also have a rule in our household that we do not buy produce from China. My mom and mother in law drilled it into my head. So a lot of times I'm so torn because Melissa and Doug makes some really cute stuff.

I've been looking for toys for LO. I usually go on Amazon so I can read the reviews and a lot of times there will be very vocal reviews from parents who say they won't buy a certain toy because it was made in China. Would you avoid buying a toy because of its manufacturing origin? Do you make sure you give your LO toys that are BPA/PVC/etc/etc free? What do you think?

I'm torn. On one hand I don't want to give her toys that potentially have harmful chemicals....on the other hand, 90% of the stuff I see that I want to get her is made in China so.....

Also, I'm Chinese. :-)
