We haven't really bought LO any toys, but the things we have gotten are gender neutral (mega blocks and a sesame street remote control).

In general, I don't like pink, so even if I did have a daughter, she'd probably get a red play kitchen instead of a pink one.

LO doesn't have anything gender-specific just yet but I can't wait to buy her trains and cars! But I also want to buy her a Cabbage Path Kid and a Barbie. I think the toys she has will be whatever until she shows a preference to something.

Pretty gender neutral right now. He has some Disney stuffed animals, a toy stroller, a tea set, and the regular ole cars and trucks. We just buy him what we think he would be interested in, without really considering gender. We don't buy him pink toys though. Most of our toys are neutral (yellow, green, blue, purple, red). That way we won't have to buy new toys for 2nd baby (if it's a girl). Plus it'll be easier to give away to friends.

Most of the toys DS has a very gender neutral at this point. He does have a few cars, but the "boy" toys are kept to a minimum at this point. I think we will go by his cues as he gets older.

I don't buy any toys... her grandparents buy her enough so I don't have to! She has a mixture of "boy" and "girl" things though.

I do. I had girly toys growing up, and Liv has lots of girly toys too. We also have some cars and gender neutral toys, but she can play with what she wants. I know theres this big "gender neutral" movement and not pushing your kid into gender stereotyping going on right now, but I wont buy into that. If we go to the store and she wants a truck, she can have it. But I wont refuse to buy her a doll or the princess legos just because they are geared toward a girl

Out LO isn't old enough to really care what we give her. But I have made a conscious effort to restrict the girly things we buy to a minimum. Just in case we ever have a boy, I'd rather have gender neutral stuff. But really, that's just to avoid comments/questions from other people. Like, "Why is your son playing with a pink chew toy?". That being said, I don't feel like it's a problem for a boy or girl to play with toys that are typically meant for the other gender. No rules in play time :)

I have a girl but we buy her boy toys! She loves cars, trains, and most recently dinosaurs. She doesn't have any interest in dolls or other girly toys. But she does like girly clothes at least.

For instance dolls for girls and trucks for boys?

Charlie is still a little young to be into things that are traditionally considered "boy" like superheros and star wars. Most toys for babies tend to be pretty gender neutral, but we have seen Charlie naturally gravitate towards more "boy" toys as he gets older.

We've purchased him a play kitchen, dolls, a doll stroller, and trains and cars. He gravitates towards cars and trains, so we end up encouraging his interests. My friend's daughter gravitated towards dolls once she turned 2, when she didn't show much interest in them before then.

What type of gender specific toys do you buy?
