If he didn't call or text me when I'm at work I would have no way of knowing when he went to work, where he's going to work, if he has to stay the night, etc. He has to turn his phone off when the train is moving so I kind of use that as a way to gage when he'll be home. If his phone rings I know he's clocking out and will call me soon. If it's off, I know they're moving. He'll call me when they stop sometimes to let me know how the trip is going and if it's going to be a 3 hour day or a 12 hour day.
