What I hated were the people that tried to sell me stuff. This one time DH and I were on a date and we were trying to cross an intersection when this guy came up trying to sell us a historical tour of central park. I kept trying to say no and walk away, but the then the light turned red, so we were basically forced to listen to him until another light change and when we tried to walk away he blocked us and said, "don't worry, there will be another light change." I saw a few in a suburban shopping area for two days, but then they disappeared - I'm guessing the business association got them kicked out.</p> <p>I used to just find them annoying, then I got very angry with them. One of the workers was talking to a man, then the man walked away without giving them any money. I overheard the worker make a very offensive/racial comment about the man. Aside from that incident, I wouldn't sign up on the street to give money. I'm also not a fan when the cashier asks for a donation when I'm at a store checking out.
