Yes, my sons lead teacher is such a lovely women. I'm always disappointed when I don't see her at drop off/pick up. My husband and I both chat with her regularly. He had an assistant teacher whom we also loved. When she moved we were so sad & gave her a good-bye card with a gift card.

@butterbean: I'm not sure about all daycares, but my son's school (and all the ones I've worked at) had no rules about it. So far, I've left banana bread with the teachers, gift cards for teacher appreciation week, and valentines gifts.

We care about her daycare provider, she's in an inhome and she's like family to us. I took her out for dinner and rinks fro her birthday (she's had a rough year...lost her mom and getting a divorce) so we just had some girl time! I also bring random breakfast and treats to her!

@Smurfette: awww what a great idea!! I totally dropped the ball on Teacher's Appreciation Week bc LO was home w pneumonia. I should bake those muffins I brought in for bday treats again bc the teachers loved them.

Yes! I love all the teachers in the room. I make a point to talk to them every time I drop off and pick up. Reagan brought them cookies her first Friday as a thank you for helping her get adjusted her first week. I am planning on bringing them treats every month at least as a thank you.

I think we do!

She has this one teacher that is in the infant II room that use to sub in Infant I and just loves her. On the Thursday before her bday she came running out as DH was leaving bc she wanted to give LO a birthday hug since she wouldn't see her on Friday. We thought that was so sweet. We can really tell that she cares a lot about LO.

A few weeks ago we were grabbing takeout and DH saw her working there...after finishing a 10 hr shift at daycare! Her and her fiance are saving up for their wedding and moving to NYC afterwards. We'll be so sad to see her go.

Anyway, we're going to give her a Wedding Congrats card with some cash in there. Knowing our region it'll probably be more than most of her guests give! Haha

Do you care about LO's teachers?
