If you think about it, people have strong opinions colored by their experiences and I think sometimes it gets the better of them. </p> <p>As an example, I have a rather ethnic name and as a child, I hated it! I have since grown into it and found that it's memorable and people rarely forget it, which has served me really well. It does mean the same thing as Jacob. And I have heard it more often as a surname.
