No, we only celebrate our wedding anniversary, we usually somewhat acknowledge our dating anniversary (or at least the day we met) but don't go out of our way to celebrate it.

We went to a cute little restaurant for our first date. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner there and went to eat there on the five year anniversary of our first date. But we don't celebrate it every year.

Yes we do celebrate our 1st date anniversary every year. For us that was 7 years ago.

Our tradition is to go down to the fish market and have a fresh seafood feast. This year we had to alter it a bit since I'm pregnant and cant' eat raw seafood but it was still a lovely time. I'm not sure how this tradition started since it has absolutely nothing to do with our first date which was an art museum and dinner.

Eh it's so hard to count it as dating since we were 19 & 20 when we were officially in a relationship. We got together in October and were married 3 years later in October. So I just usually add 3 years to how long we have been married and acknowledge that we have been together that long on our wedding anniversary. 11 years total now :)

We acknowledge the date that we became a couple and might go out for dinner or something, but I don't remember any other dates (first kiss, first date, those things)... We were 17 and obviously had no idea we would eventually get married! I didn't think to keep track of everything :P We've been together for 9 years now.

@sweetooth: We are both pizza fanatics, and knew we were only living there temporarily, so we were afraid our Friday night homemade super thin crust pizza night would turn into Friday night deep dish night! So once a month worked out waaay better...and we were much younger then!

I did go save the ices as a reminder in my google calendar for March 20 :) I think it will be fun!

@ILoveLettie: I can see how it would be hard to celebrate a specific date if you went from friends to more without an "official" first date. Acknowledging when you made the transition is nice too!

@.twist.: I'm usually the one to say, "You know what today is?" And we just have a little chat about our first date. But this year, I told him, have some ideas for a little night out. :) A nice dinner at home is a really nice way to celebrate too.

@mrs scrapbook: Oooh, deep dish every 27th?! How fun...and indulgent! Definitely something our younger bodies could tolerate more ;) I like your idea about Italian ice! Write it down for March for sure!

@blackbird: hahaha! Glad I could remind you ;) A nice homecooked dinner is a great way to celebrate.

@yin: I know what you mean about it being more low-key every year. This year just happens to work out with my mom in town. But usually I don't make a huge fuss. Still, thinking about 10 years ago and how much has changed since then, and how much I love him...well, it could be all of these pregnancy hormones raging, but I just feel like I want to celebrate that he's in my life.

We used to make a bigger deal before we got married. Now we just acknowledge it and maybe make a special dinner at home. When we lived in Chicago, we would actually go out for deep dish pizza every month on the 27th (our date-a-versary is May 27). It was a silly little tradition, but it was fun and yummy!

I just realized that a cute new tradition would be to have Italian ices on the anniversary of the day that we met. We met during a riot in Philadelphia (we weren't part of it, it just broke out around us!) But the rumor always was that it started because of Rita's running out of ices on free ice day. That would be so fun! I just have to remember this for March...

We acknowledge when we became boyfriend and girlfriend--don't really celebrate it though! But we didn't really have an official "first date": we were college students and were friends first, so it really just transitioned into a relationship rather than having an official date. But your plans to celebrate yours sound great: maybe we should do more to celebrate ours!

My 10-year date-a-versary is this week with my husband. I love thinking back to our first date. It's such a special memory for me. I love when we can celebrate at the actual location it took place at, but we no longer live in Los Angeles where we met.

My mom is going to be in town this week, so she can stay home with our son, and I think we'll try and go out for a bite to eat to celebrate. My nausea keeps me from eating too adventurously, and I'd LOVE a nice glass of wine to toast :P But I'll settle for a yummy glass of watermelon agua fresca at a favorite mexican restaurant.

Do you celebrate your first date with your husband?
