We are not sure of her official birth day (though the shelter should know since she was born at one of their foster homes…), so we celebrate the day we got her at the shelter as her birthday.</p> <p>We get her fresh fish for dinner (which she gets maybe once every few weeks usually), and get her a gift. Usually we get her a “big” gift like a new perch to sit on, or a new leash/harness or something like that. We don't know the b-day of the pup we rescued in the Fall, but based on his teeth they estimated February-ish, and since he's named after a president we went with Washington's birthday.
