I stopped around 10 weeks or so....he's been in an overnight diaper since then. Of course, if he woke up and I smelled poop, I'd change it, but wet diapers don't seem to bother him and don't give him diaper rash.....and it makes him made if I changed him before a feeding and he'd be wide awake if I changed him after.

I change dirty diapers if they're what's keeping him up at night like last night. LO had a 3 hour wake cycle last night brought on by a number of things. I changed a huge poopy diaper, then he calmed down more. My baby doesn't like poopy diapers at night!

My daughter STTN at 2 months, so we obviously stopped then. She stopped sleeping through at 5 months, but we didn't go back to changing her. She wears disposables at night, and has never had a rash or leak or anything.

No...H sleeps from 1030-630 and I don't wake her up for a change..I usually change her diaper at 630 and she eats and goes back down for a couple of hours.

She doesn't poop at night, so I'm ok with letting her go all night...

I stopped at maybe 6 months? I can't remember. We switched from cloth at night to overnight disposables, because both my girls would rash in cloth if they were wet for that long (and with Ria sleeping through the night at a young age I sure wasn't going to wake her up to change a diaper!)

Mine still eat overnight at 7 months and pee a ton, so we still change them. We generally don't at the first feed at 8-9 unless its really squishy, but we def do if they wake at 12 and or 3. They are belly and side sleepers so they often get little leaks that bother them. We just change first, then milk, and they have less trouble settling. When they were still sleeping on their backs we could go longer without changing at night.

She is totally cool with being in a wet diaper for hours and hours (I think!). She's a pretty heavy wetter, so I like to change it during her 4am feeding. Even from 4-7:30 it's soaked and heavy, so I change it to just be safe and prevent leaks.

Depends on how many times they wake up. I like to change them once a night when they wake up for feeding. Diapers get too large and rarely, they leak. I change them before the feeding.

I do if she is fully awake. If not (like during the dreamfeed) I let it go. Unless I hear her pooping over the monitor then its an automatic change!

LO doesn't care if he's wet or poopy in cloth or disposables but we stopped changing at night when his poops condensed and he stopped pooping at night. Probably around nine weeks I realized the change and stopped. We do cloth durin the day but use a disposable at night. He usually has one feeding and the dipe lasts roughly 530pm after bath until 7 am at wake up :)

@Running Elley: Same here! Evan would freak out the second he peed. He still does sometimes, but it's more of a closed-lip humming whine than the all-out scream it used to be. If it goes for TOO long he'll start to fuss, but it takes a LOT longer now to hit that point then it did when he was a month or two (or three or four) old.

I don't, unless he doesn't settle right back down. Usually he does, though, so I don't bother. We're going to start adding at least one extra insert into our CD, though, because twice this week he was soaked through to his sleep sack (he's a tummy sleeper), and I had to change the crib sheets because they were wet.

If DH goes in to check on him he'll usually change him and then bring him to me to nurse, but if it's not bothering him I don't bother.

ETA: We probably stopped doing it around 5 months.

LO is really tolerant of dirty diapers (wet or poopy). She hasnt ever complained about her diaper, she's just weird like that. She doesn't poop at night so if she doesn't fuss after her 3am feed, I won't wake her with a dipe change.

ETA: for WET diapers, I stopped changing night diapers and switched to a more absorbent diaper for night time. I do change poop diapers ASAP.
Right around 3.5 months he started to sleep 3 hours, 2 hours, 1 hour, 45 minutes and I wouldn't change him those 3 dream feeds--I think it helped him sleep better to not rile him up after a night feeding, too.

Since I don't want to risk a wake up that LO would otherwise sleep through later in the night, I almost always change her diaper. I'm up anyway. I'd rather do it now, then have to get up later to do it.

R is pretty sensitive to being wet. She sometimes wakes from naps if she's wet at all and God forbid she is wet when she's in her car seat. She'll scream until we get to our destination and change her.

Since she was born, we change her every time she feeds. I've been trying to space it out more as long as she will tolerate it and will even do a early AM feeding and try to not change her and hope she goes back to sleep. That being said, we always change her when she wakes for night feedings. I'm afraid if we didn't change her she either wouldn't fall back asleep or would wake just because she was wet. DH does these changes and then hands her back to me to feed so she can fall asleep right after.

Is there a point where we should not change her diaper (they are usually just wet ones not poop) and see if she handles it? Or do you change LO's diaper each time?
