Eli has been sleeping through the night since 3 months old but we dutifully change his diaper at around 10pm every night (his bedtime is around 6pm and he wakes around 6am). We only do it because we can... he doesn't get woken up by it and we feel better changing it midway than not at all.

I changed LO during night feeds for the first 4 weeks. After that LO has slept through every night so we just change the heavy nappy in the morning.

I changed DS at every feeding during the night from birth to about 8 or 10 weeks. He started sleeping through the night most nights around then. If he was awake when he got up (as opposed to sleepy fussing) I'd change him then feed him. Lately just popping his pacifier in his mouth and holding him for a few minutes gets him back to sleep.

There are a few times he fell asleep early and I hadn't changed his diaper for bedtime yet. I let him sleep for a bit, then did a diaper change while he was asleep. I've managed to change his diaper about half a dozen times without waking him up!

I changed her at night until she stopped pooping at night. I don't remember when she stopped, maybe around 2 or 3 months.

Hmm... my LO is 9 months old, and I still change his diaper during his middle of the night feeding. I even woke him up once to change a dirty diaper. I'm glad he doesn't mind too much.

I change her diaper at her first night feed because it would have been 6-8 hours from when she went down. At her second night feed it will depend on her - if she seems very very sleepy, I'll just put her back to bed. But if she's a bit more awake I'll do a quick change. She doesn't have a hard time falling back asleep at night so it's okay for now.

We always changed her when she woke up for feedings, and stopped when she started sleeping through the night at 2 1/2 months. We bought a hemp insert for her cloth diapers then.

we've got the same philosophy as Mrs. Jacks, no poop= no changing of the diaper in the middle of the night. Knock on wood, we've had no issues with diaper rash.

Like you, we did when he was a newborn. Once he started waking up just once to eat we stopped because it would really wake him up.

I used to change her diaper whenever she woke for a feeding (newborn-2 months). Once she started sleeping longer stretches I stopped. I've even let her sleep in a poopy diaper a couple of times. eek! Luckily it was EBF poop and didn't cause diaper rash.

Only if there's poop, otherwise we let it ride. As you said, it's less disruption and diapers are so good that they are unlikely to leak.

We're kinda in the same transition. We used to change her diaper everytime she woke up, when she was a newborn. Lately, at 4.5 months she's begun waking up a lot again. We don't change her because 1. she'll freak out and 2. it definitely makes her wake up completely. I feel kind of guilty, I'm not sure if she's uncomfortable but it seems like she falls back to sleep just fine.

I used to change Olive's diaper when she was a newborn and woke up for a feeding in the middle of the night, but lately I haven't been changing it so I don't stimulate her. She does seem to go back down a little easier lately, but she's not sleeping any longer stretches... maybe they're even shorter stretches.

When Charlie started sleeping through the night post sleep training at 4 1/2 months, we stopped changing his middle of the night diapers. Up until that point we had been changing him.

Do you change your LO's middle of the night diapers? When/why did you stop?
