I always change poo. I usually changed every feed so she was awake enough to eat.

For the first 8 weeks he was pooping around the clock. At first when he woke up I'd change him and always find poop and then I'd feed him after. Maybe around a month or so we started doing just one change at night after feeding. At 8 weeks we stopped because it was just pee.

In your case I would probably only change for poop unless she had leaked through. E would nurse for a while on either side, and we coslept, so I would feed him on one side, change him, and then settle down and let him nurse back to sleep on the other side.

Yes, but mostly because she haaaaates being wet. Also, because she is a very slow eater, so it helps her eat.

I stopped changing the baby around 3 weeks because she would not pee until at least 3am. I would always find her totally dry. So now I never change her at night. It makes wakings less than 10 minutes and we usually both get back to sleep very quickly. Sometimes she is leak-y in the morning, but usually the diaper is just very very full.

Well I had a terrible eater but a great sleeper, so I would have to change her diaper in the middle of the feeding to try to wake her up so she'd eat better.

BUT, if I had a normal baby, I would let the baby sleep.

As a newborn, DD would *always* poop midway through a nursing session, so we always ended up having to change her afterward. As she got older, she stopped doing that, thank goodness. Now that she's dropped to one or two night feedings, we do change her before she eats because otherwise we have leaks by morning, but definitely not afterward!

Only for poop, which means I end up changing her once overnight. I haven't had any problems with rash or anything doing it that way. If I changed every time, a 15 min wake up would turn into one hour because she is so awake if I change her!

They fall asleep while feeding in the middle of the night? L (1 month old) only wakes up for a little snack (like 1 oz) once or twice in the middle of the night and since she normally takes a long time to be out back to sleep, I leave it if it's just pee.
