I keep track of periods, suspected O (and use OPKs when TTC) and BD days when TTC. I never have temped though - even when not pregnant I wake up at night to pee and my wake up times are off b/c of my husband's schedule.

I'm with @Anya: and @Aria:

I learned how 2.5 years ago when I went off bcp. I did really detailed charts for a few months and they helped my dr see I wasn't ovulating and helped diagnose pcos.

I slacked for a bit while we were not really trying, but now that we are, it makes me feel a bit more in control. I'm used to spending 1 or 2 minutes taking and recording my temp in the morning and going back to sleep

Yes, I chart. I started after ttc for 8 or 9 months the first time, and started right away this time.

@californiadreams: IMO, keeping track of/recording your BBT and CM are the most common. Some people will also chart their mood, any pains (cramps) their having, how heavy/light/spotty AF is, meds/vitamins their taking, etc etc.

Yep, I did for over a year while TTC. I have long cycles, so it was helpful in figuring things out.

Yes, I did for about 8 months before getting a bfp. It was really helpful for me to look back over different cycles and compare. I'll definitely use it when I'm TTC again!

Yes - we've followed the Creighton method of NFP for 3.5 years both to avoid and achieve pregnancy. I'm amazed at how much more aware I am of how my body/fertility works than I was previously!

I started charting a year before TTC (I had the paragard), because I thought that would make things go much quicker. We're now on cycle 14 of TTC. :bummed:

I did a really half-a$$ed version. Occasional opks and recording BD sessions. And sometimes I'd add symptoms I felt.

i was temping and charting my CM when i went off BCP. i charted for 9 months TTA and then 1 month TTC. it's the only reason i got my BFP because i knew to keep DTD because i hadn't O'd! I'm a big fan! once i'm TTC again, i'll temp.

Yes. It was easy as soon as I got the hang of it and it became part of my regular routine. Now that I have this knowledge about my body and cycle, I don't think I could ever give up charting while TTC or planning- not knowing where I am in my cycle is far more stressful to me than the few minutes a day it takes to chart.
