@autumnlove: omg it's a blessing and a curse. So many times we say "we would NOT be stressing if we didn't have a video monitor" because we've heard a little whimper and we watch as baby squirms for like 15 mins straight. Then goes back to sleep. But of course it's amazing to see every minute you want to see!!!

Yes! I'm guilty of picking up at every cry! Perhaps that's why he has horrible sleeping habits!

haha, just read my comment over and it makes me sound like such a mean mommy. ;) But this happens several times a night. For both kids. Add that to 1-2 night feedings for LMW, and you can just imagine how tired I am all the time. ;)

My kids are big fussers/whimperers. Luckily we have a video monitor so I can reach over and look to see what's up. I don't even lift my head from the pillow unless they are crying and it's escalating, and it's clear they're not going to calm down on their own.

we have a video monitor. i can tell when olive is up up by whether she's sitting up in her crib. if she's laying down and making noise, she usually goes back to sleep.

I have a video monitor, so I peek to see what the whimpering is about. Most times its just her readjusting in her sleep. she also stands and turns on her aquarium at least once per night and goes right back to sleep. If I didnt have a video monitor I would CONSTANTLY be in there. It would drive me nuts hearing and not knowing for sure whats going on lol

I wait now, she tends to wake at least once, maybe twice a night and whimper until she finds her thumb, then falls right back to sleep. I've gotten out of bed only to find a sleeping baby too many times now.

LO whimpered a lot last night and I woke up every time to check on her but she always stopped before I reached her room.

Do you check on your LO when they whimper or do you wait to see if it stops?
