She will do it for me since she's been cleaning for us for 8 years and knows where everything goes, but I try to pick up anyways. Ours comes once a month and it always catches us off guard, but we straighten up so they can deal with the cleaning. Some of the contracts also say they don't do dirty dishes. So i have to do dishes. Basically, if your place is so messy they can't get to the surface, they don't clean it. So there is a little pre-cleaning involved.
