We have several restaurants around here that have drive-throughs, but it would be pretty hard to eat the food in the car so they fall in more of the quick-serve category for me. One of the ones I frequent will brings the food to you and buses the tables. I get back from a conference call and have so many responses. It's a Chick Fil A vs Panera war! :silly: </p> <p>So, okay. I know that Chick Fil A is fast food. But when I think of feeding LO fast food, I think of McDonald's or Wendy's. I just don't think of Chick Fil A! I feel guilty if I give LO McDonalds but I don't feel guilty about Chick Fil A at all. </p> <p>I think it must be the type of food (and price point) that makes it fast food more than the type of restaurant. Chick Fil A has better/more service than Panera! You pay at the counter (or in the drive through) for both but at Chick Fil A they bring your food to your table and bring you refills. Plus at Chick Fil A if they aren't busy they will usually clear your table for you. </p> <p>Panera is much more "DIY"! They don't bring you your food, or refills, or clear your table. In fact, you have to fill your own drink to start with! Someone mentioned the freshness of their food - I don't think the food is made fresh at Panera all of the time? A lot of their sandwiches come pre-made and frozen and are just heated up. And our Panera has a drive thru, too! :) </p> <p>Still, I probably would consider Chick Fil A more on the fast food side of the continuum than Panera just because it is fried food. I would make things off the menu, like instead of a grilled sandwhich. I would slice up the grilled meat and roll it in some lettuce. So I changed things up a little. I did move across the country where there were no CFA, so my appreciation and cravings for CFA definitely grew. Then this year, 3 opened up in the Seattle area. I definitely crave it some days but sadly, since I've left the company, they've changed the menu so my go-to cravings are no longer available. Boo! It's okay, their chicken sandwiches, fries, milkshakes, iced tea and lemonades are still the same.
