I work in product development and deal with a lot of customer complaints. Since taking my job I have started contacting companies more. Feedback is helpful and losing customers is expensive. I'd much rather have the opportunity to please you and make things right than lose a customer or worse have someone go on an angry Twitter campaign. @ScarletBegonia: I'm not saying that's what you're doing - but it is effective.

All the time!! I've found that twitter is usually the best way to go for a complaint, whereas email is the best way to go for a compliment. Since most companies now hire people (or at least interns) to man their social medial 9-5, you can get a very quick response to a complaint, esp if you #badcustomerservice or #badservice and @the company. It is in their best interest to have the issue resolved in the open so that people searching in future can see their methodology. I've had great experiences doing this with Qantas, Air Canada, Longines watches, Apple, and (believe it or not I don't even have a kid yet) Nerf!

Yes. But I also, more often than not, contact company when I am superly satisfied. Nobody likes an always-debbie-downer.

I never did before baby, but now I'll call about anything.
In the past year I've called:
Aden & Anais - new set of bamboo swaddles and a replacement sleep sack
Nuby - replacement sippy cup
Moen - new shower head
Le Crueset - 70% off coupon for a new Dutch oven even though I was totally at fault
Uppababy - new front wheels

In the past I just would have been annoyed and not purchased anything from that company again.

I rarely used to contact any companies, but now it seems like I am contacting a company at least once a month. First it was about diapers, then a food item, now Toys R Us for cancelling my dresser order with no reason as to why. I'm usually a pretty laid back person and let things go, but I've felt like lately I've needed to do these things because I have been upset!
