@banana: I wouldn't put it past them! We usually don't order off of the kids menu so I guess that is a good thing!

@andrea: Too salty and sometimes too sweet. I tried ordering a kid's spaghetti meal once and it was sooooo sweet! I think they do that on purpose to get kids to like their food so that the family will go back.

@banana: yeah, once you get used to home cooking it is hard to go back to restaurant food. i find all that food to be way too salty now.

That's totally me too Andrea. I used to cook once in a while before baby and now I cook all the time. We only eat out on Friday's (my day off) and sometimes on Saturdays if go out for lunch with friends. But other than that, we eat at home. And I"m always at the supermarket too (thank goodness there's one right down the street). If I wasn't trying to feed my LO healthy meals, I'd probably just eat out more often. But I'm kind of skeptical of what restaurants put in their food (lots of sugar!) so we try to eat at home. And also to save money of course. :)

@artbee: @Rubies: Oh yeah, I only really started when the LO began to eat table food around one year. Before that, we mainly made my daughter's puréed foods but didn't necessarily cook for ourselves. Now we can all eat the same thing so I might as well just make more for DH and I.

Before baby, I used to cook on and off - hubs and I would take turns or just go it together. And then I had LO and, no word of a lie I swear, for 4 months I didn't cook a single thing. Nothing. Now, I good a lot more - but usually I cook huge batches of things on Sundays to eat throughout the week.

I don't know yet BUT, I used to go to the grocery store almost every day. And I cooked... well, sometimes. Sometimes I cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner; sometimes I didn't cook at all.

When I got a boyfriend (now my husband), we cooked every night (mostly me). When we were moving, we ate out more. Now we cook every night, plus lunch and/or breakfasts on days off work. I wonder if I'll cook more as a mommy, but I doubt it.

I like eating out ONLY at really nice places, and we just can't afford it. When we were eating out at low budget places during the move it was really depressing because we both knew we would be eating better as soon as we had a kitchen to cook out of!

We eat at home most nights - we did before LO and we do after. I thing generally speaking people in the US eat out a LOT more than we do here.

I cook about the same, but I make simpler stuff now. :T Like.. I chop up chicken and throw it in the oven. Simple pimple. :)

Nope. We always eat out. I make lo's food, but not ours. I've been having bad migraines daily since she came so I try to make things as easy as possible. I'm hoping to straighten my head out so I can start cooking again soon though.

It is like day and night for me. I used to NEVER cook and barely even went to the supermarket. Now we have a home cooked meal almost every night and I go to the supermarket 2-3x a week. I think that is probably the biggest change in my life since becoming a mom!

How about you?

ETA - This is mainly so that the LO gets healthy meals. Or else DH and I would probably still eat take out!
