@FutureMrsMcK: I'd never tried butternut squash before last night...it was good!

@artbee: ha, DH only complains if he realizes there's no meat in a meal, sometimes I can trick him!

I'm the kind of person where if I know what's in there and I don't like it (certain veggies) then I won't eat it. Or I'll think it's yucky even if it's yummy. It's totally all in my head.

I have one of the cookbooks, but I've never used it. This is a good reminder to get it out!

I've never heard of the book, but butternut squash macaroni and cheese is exceptional. :)

My SIL gave me this book when I was pregnant but I don't think I've actually opened it yet! I do like making mac and cheese with a good amount of pureed butternut squash in it, and I'm sure there's something similar in there. I just like the way it tastes, and that it's a bit more nutritious!

I have both cookbooks and I like them! I need to do a better job about cooking with them, but the short time I was gung-ho about it, they were delicious. DH doesn't eat a lot of vegetables, so that's why I tried it.

I remember reading about this book and the controversy around some similar book so I picked it up when I was at the library the other day. I figured since I was making puree/mashes for LO it was a good time to try it.. and so far I really like it! I'm trying to add more visible veggies to our meals but I'm happy to add some undetectable ones as well.

So far I've done sloppy joes with sweet potato & butternut squash puree, peanut butter fruit fondue with squash puree, and meatloaf with bean and carrot puree.

Anyone else do this or read the book(s)?
