I feel like they have them for a reason so I follow them. Never even crossed a double yellow line! We're a lot more careful when LO's in the car. We don't drive through yellow lights. Two reasons; 1. I want to lead by example to teach him to be on the safe side when crossing the street. 2. he usually walks on his own now, but still a little unpredictable as sometimes he'll stop for no reason so i need a time buffer to either make him continue or be able to pick him up and get to the other side in time. as far as driving goes. But when I'm walking Charlie or Olive, I am really careful. If there's any traffic at all within a city block, I am really reluctant to cross the street if the walk light is blinking. I guess I am just more careful about crossing the street, now that more than my life is at risk. Do you cross the street on a blinking light when walking with your LO? What about driving: are you more careful about driving through an intersection with a yellow stoplight?
