Just in the last few weeks we have started giving them to her whole because she definitely chews thing well now. But I still only give her one at a time if I'm doing that because she has a tendency to shove a lot of something in her mouth otherwise and I don't trust her to chew them all that way. Squished small one, cut the bigger ones, for a long time- like 18 months maybe. Finally started just giving them and she was fine but her friends had been eating them whole for months. Initially my mom and DH thought it was "totally fine" to give them to her whole at 11 months and of course she choked (like actual choking) because no one likes to listen to me! So after that we cut them.
