We mostly let him do his own thing, but redirect if he has gotten into something he shouldn't (like the dog bowls).

If he's playing with something in a way he shouldn't, I redirect him. Lately he is into picking things up and dropping them, so if he starts doing that with his racetrack, I start stacking blocks instead.

It works for now, but I am not sure if I can continue this much longer. We do also sit him in his high chair for "coloring" and will do sensory play this spring on the balcony (water and sand tables).

I let RJ direct and I'll play with him. Rob Sr. is the opposite-- he's constantly saying "RJ, look at this! look at that!" Obviously Daddy is more fun, but sometimes goes overboard and RJ gets overwhelmed. Hehe. Mommy is boring, but safe.

She decides. Mostly, it's just toys on her mat or her jumperoo, but I let her have at it.

She's still young so I will direct it. But if she starts doing something herself I just go with it.

She plays around mostly just on her own near me when I'm doing work. When we play together sometimes I follow her lead, sometimes I direct her and sometimes I'm not sure what you'd call it because we're just being silly.

Most of the time we let him play with whatever he wants. I'll introduce something to him to see if it catches his attention but if he's not interested (which is usually the case) then I just let him keep playing with whatever he was playing with.

Usually I'll sit her in front of her toys if she's crawling around making mischief. In general though, I let her do her thing.

We've been making the switch to child-directed play as Charlie gets more into activities... it's been great for everyone involved!
