No. I leave work at work and only take it on if I get a phone call (rare). I recently deleted work email from my phone.

I'm a SAHM, so whenever I'm feeling up to it (not often now that I'm in the first trimester of pregnancy!) I clean up after dinner while DH plays with our son. Loading the dishwasher, washing bottles, start a load of laundry general straightening type stuff, etc. Sometimes I'm just too tired and we'll both just chill, but that's the easiest time of day for me to get stuff done (I know I should be better about using nap time, but I need a break/lunch then!) and it gives DH some one-on-one time with L.

@mrbee: god no. I do everything in power to avoid doing job-work at home, even if that means I go early or stay slightly late at work. DH sometimes does work at home, but only once a week or so.

Yes, LO's bedtime is about 8:45pm now. I usually start packing/making our lunches for the next day, prep for the next day's dinner, clean up the living area/kitchen/bathroom. And then i'll try to squeeze in some work for a couple of hours. I'll usually get DH to fold laundry while he decompresses/watches tv.

No. Maybe once a month, if that.

ETA: I meant job work. I do clean/straighten up after she goes to bed.

I do household stuff after kids are in bed and DH does work-work.

I feel like there is never down time - even if I am watching a show I am running around doing stuff during commercials

Depends on my workload...but DH and I both have a (bad) habit of logging on after DS is down...

My old job required it. I would have to leave at 5:15 every day to catch the train and then once DS was asleep and I was able to eat something really quickly, I had to do more work. I switched jobs a few months ago and that was one of the reasons why.

Yes. Most nights it's work work. Other nights it's household work, or a combination thereof.

Yes. We work on my husband's business. It is critically important that we make it as successful as possible, so for now, I'm happy to do it. Hopefully, one day we'll be able to turn off at 5pm and not turn back on until the next morning!

Yes I tend to do all my writing after M and my husband are in bed. I dont do it every night but some nights it's a chore.

Unfortunately. Although some nights I am way too tired and just crash. Our place is small so we can't do some cleaning after LO goes to sleep, like the dishes. But we'll straighten up the living room. There's also packing lunches, getting out clothing, sometimes I'll cook dinners, DH is a teacher so there's always lesson planning or grading. Not to mention my personal writing and work writing. I need for the day to be 36 hours long, without adding any time to my office job--the extra time would just be for getting home work done.

@Anagram: Do you do work-work too? That's the worst part for me... not being able to turn the brain off. I can't believe it, but I yearn for evenings where I can do nothing but the dishes!

Every night. That's when we finish our dinner and clean up, I pump for the night bottle (and wash the bottles and pump parts), and we wash LO's dirty bottles from day care and refill them for the next day, plus get together the right amount of solids in meals and get it packed in a way that is easy to transport, with a spoon and a clean bib.

And then of course there's laundry. That's just our nightly routine. We don't even get any *real* cleaning done during the week. That waits till weekends, so then we spend our "days off" cleaning.

ugh. Worst part of being a dual-working-parent household.

In our household, I find that it really wears us down that there's never any time to do anything but parent, work or clean. Neither of us is a fan of the "second shift" of working/cleaning after dinner, but it's the only way to get things done!

I think maybe once a week, we don't work after the kids are asleep? Including weekends too.
