I definitely don't dress how I use to. I got rid of my seven jeans because no one really needs to be staring at the 7 on my butt. I donated any shirts with brands written across (I feel silly wearing a PINK sweatshirt that I see young girls wearing when I'm a mom of 2) even though I don't have a problem when other mom's wear them, I just feel like I look young.
I shop mostly at TBD or Savvy at Nordstrom when I can afford to, Gap, the limited and I pick up basics at Target sometimes. I wear a lot of dressy jeans, cardigans and flats too. I would probably dress nicer if I wasn't a SAHM and had to buy nice clothes for work.

I am definitely feeling like I'm dressed more mom-like lately. I used to wear cute dresses every day to work, but now that I'm nursing when I'm home and pumping in the office, I have to wear separates. And I tend to wear more pants because I'm too lazy to shave my legs. Who am I kidding? I'm too lazy to even take a shower most days!

Yep! I'm also becoming a huge fan of Boden. They have a good mix of stylish mom clothes and professional clothes that i can wear as a professor. Their stuff is expensive, but high quality. I used to love J Crew, but recently their prices have skyrocketed, and the quality has tanked. I literally wear their clothes once and already have holes in them and buttons missing.

Sometimes I dress very "mom" like but other times not so much. When DH and I have a date night I always try to look super hot :) and not very mom like. On an everyday basis though I do dress pretty laid back. I'm a SAHM and wear alot of capris and consertaive tops during the day. I recently purged my closet of all things hoochie before I started packing away my non maternity clothes. I had some REALLY short skirts that I just really don't see myself wearing after this LO is born. DH was a little sad to see them go lol. We have a pretty big age difference so after getting married I have really been trying to not dress so "young" which is hard at times since I am only 23.

When I was in high school I routinely had friends tell me I dressed like a soccer mom. I think it's because I worked at a bank at had to dress professionally, even as a high schooler. Plus, I never felt comfortable in short shorts, mini skirts, or slinky tops so I always gravitated towards the more "mom" type stuff. I also did my student teaching very young (20) so I had to dress older than my age then too.

Now, at 24 I definitely still prefer more "mom" styles. My husband has always worn Hollister cologne so I walked in to buy him more last weekend and decided we are officially to old to even walk in the store, let alone buy anything. At 34 weeks pregnant I got a lot of stares in that store!

I don't think so. I wear a lot of scrubs on days I work, and on my days off I love to wear cute jeans, cardigans, maxi dresses and other stuff. Maybe that is mom stuff lol? I shop at Buckle, Gap, American Eagle, and mostly Nordstroms.

I dress the same way I did before I was a Mom.
This is really my only option, as I cannot afford new clothes. Ha!
And I did already 'tone down' my look in the last 5 years because I
1) live in a smaller town (bye bye 'downtown' non-commercial fashion looks that no one here would understand)
2) am a teacher (want to maintain a professional image)
3) was a babysitter (had to buy shoes I could slip on while carrying baby, bathing suits that the kids couldn't pull down when 'drowning', and bottoms that wouldn't show my derriere while chasing small children.

It depends...I have some mom clothes that I pull out when I need to get dressed quickly. When you are chasing a toddler, heels, dangling earrings and dry clean only fabrics aren't so practical .

@Mrs. Bee: Same here! Luckily high rise pants are in style now. I'd be okay with never wearing low cut jeans again for the rest of my life.

i shop at zara, h&m, gap, anthro, and j crew most often. one thing i have noticed -- my pants are becoming more and more high rise!

@jessiejo17: yeah I totally understand, I'm at that stage too. I'm only 22 so I can pass for the younger stuff, but I also have a baby which automatically makes me "older" - so I don't want to look like a teenager anymore. I have had strangers ask me how old I am with a little concern in their voice - I think they worry that I'm a teen with a baby lol!

I'm in a weird in between stage. I still buy my jeans at AE and Buckle, but I have started to wear more staple tops than the fun crazy prints. I think at 27, it's a weird age, because you aren't really a junior anymore but it's hard to shop in the women's section and find cute/young stuff. I wear a lot of solid tops with fun crazy scarfs and jewelry!

I try really had not to frequent the same stores as my junior high students - so I crossed American Eagle off the list a few years ago. I will admit that I like Talbots, which is a total "Mom" store, but I tell myself that my style is just "classic" -- not "mom" -- though others might not agree. :)

I feel like there are many different "mom" styles. Some I love, some I hate. I feel I am veering more toward mom style now that I have a baby, and want to look a tad bit older than I am.

I love Boden mom style, LOFT, Lilly Pulitzer and J. Crew. I feel a lot of them are more grown-up looks but fashionable too.

Only problem is I can't afford half of it lol but it is the look I'm going for. I find myself packing up short shorts, mini skirts, and many other "young" outfits.

But I still wear many young things as well, like my jeans- my favorites are MEK, Abercrombie and American Eagle jeans!

Do you dress like a mom?
