I don't use the filtered for making things like tea or sparkling water or coffee though. We have really hard well water so it tastes really metallic straight from the tap. They're always water bottles too both still and bubbly. The tap water tastes a bit funky unfiltered here probably because its hard water. Soft water doesn't have that funky taste but I don't know what chemicals are added or what is done to it to make it "soft" so I'm not sure I'd drink it from the tap either. </p>
