@Andrea: I know! LOL!

@artbee: I've done that too when I know that I'm not far from home. One time I made my oldest count numbers and recite letters repeatedly until we got home. I was so tired!

I used to do that when LO was little. Now I rarely let her nap in the car. I throw toys at her and sing her favorite songs very loudly until we get home. She naps so much better and longer in the crib!

Yes...but he has never napped longer than 45 minutes in the car and lately it's been 30 minutes max! Unless we have to purposely do a car nap I keep him awake until we get home.

I will do from now on! On sunday LO fell asleep on the way to friends house for lunch but he woke up after 15 minutes or so when we arrived, and then proceeded to cry most of the afternoon since he was so tired. Next time we'll keep driving until he wakes up!

I used to do it all the time. This is why kids are expensive. They use up all your gas!

@Coco Bee: Yeah, I do that too. Just not worth it to let them sleep!

@junebugmama: Alone time is important! ;)

Only if they both fall asleep. The little one screams in the car normally, so if when we pick the oldest up from school they both fall asleep, I usually stop and get a coffee, and drive around. It's really the only time I can get some "alone" time lol

heh I do. Although he doesn't sleep in the car very often and if we're ten minutes from home, I do what I can to keep him awake.

With my first I used to do it all the time and I'm finding myself doing that now with both of my kids, especially if we've missed the window to come home to nap. Like today we drove home around 3pm and got stuck in traffic so I let them sleep in the car while I drove around, past our house, until they woke up. Usually takes us 35 minutes to get home. They don't normally sleep longer than an hour in the car anyway. Boy was I tired though! I wanted to nap myself. Kids have it so easy!
