Generally yes. Would be hard not to in Ohio! I don't really worry about myself driving in snow because I grew up doing a lot of it and I know how slow to go and how to keep control. I do worry a bit about other drivers. People who are too nervous in the snow tend to get stuck and/or spin out and that can cause problems for the people coming up behind them! But still, it wouldn't be reasonable to just not leave the house every time it snows so I go regardless.

Nope. The roads are always icy when it snows in the PNW and I've gone spinning too many times to be comfortable!

DH is really great at driving in the snow though and his car handles it well.

For 6 years of college, yes. I enjoy it as long as idiots stay away from me! Use proper following distances people (the collective people, not y'all)!

I have the perfect car for it these days, but we don't get more than frost here :(

Have no choice, and usually it's not a problem. There was one time though, where I drove to my parents outside the city when there was very strong winds, so lots of blowing snow. The road I went down was all open fields and visabilty was 0. I mean, at one point I got out of the car to see if I was still on the road! I drove 10 km/hr all the way there (took 2.5 hr when normally it was 45 min). I will NEVER do that again!

In Toronto -- yes. Cars are equipped with snow tires and the snow is usually dry and roads are well salted. Plus most drivers are used to the snow.

In Seattle -- hellllllll no. It's hilly, the roads are narrow, we don't use salt, and most importantly -- the snow usually turns to ice right away due to the temperature patterns. As soon as it snows, there are cars in ditches EVERYWHERE. When it snows or even when there is the threat of snow, I stay home until the weather changes!

Back when I lived in PA, sure, 4-6 inches was nothing. Yeah, I had to be careful but I went to work. This is just for snow. If ice was involved I would be a bit more cautious.

Now that I live in WA, snow terrifies me. The roads, the drivers… it can be such a disaster. If it doesn't happen during rush hour and it melts before I have to drive, then I'm fine with it. Once I hear of snow during rush hour, I get really anxious and would rather take a vacation day or work from home, if I can.

I've become such a wuss now that I live out west. :)

I do have a AWD car but I know that having AWD doesn't make you invincible to drivers or bad road conditions.

I would if the main roads are cleared. But we have an all-wheel-drive SUV so I feel better about driving in the snow. Now we don't have to worry about it. It doesn't snow where we live. :)

That's why both our vehicles have 4x4. If we didn't we would have to stay in the house Nov-March. I also only have a 4 minute commute to work and DH has a 15 min drive. You get used to it. Slow and steady.

Yep. People go crazy here though when it snows. Panic sets in, workplaces close early, the supermarkets sell out of bread and batteries, the road network grinds to a virtual halt - anyone would think it's zombie armageddon.

Yes! My dad was very good about teaching us how to drive in bad weather.

Today was kinda gross, though. We got 4 inches last night and at least that again today, and some of the slush had turned to ice. I didn't feel unsafe, but errands that should have taken me about 3 hours took me 5. Everything takes a lot longer!

I live in New England so if I didn't, I would be in trouble! I have 4WD, my husband has AWD and we put snow tires on the cars in the winter.

I actually don't mind driving in snow, it isn't that bad if you're used to it. Easier driving in snow than heavy fog or icy conditions!
