Would be hard not to in Ohio! I don't really worry about myself driving in snow because I grew up doing a lot of it and I know how slow to go and how to keep control. I do worry a bit about other drivers. People who are too nervous in the snow tend to get stuck and/or spin out and that can cause problems for the people coming up behind them! There was one time though, where I drove to my parents outside the city when there was very strong winds, so lots of blowing snow. The road I went down was all open fields and visabilty was 0. I mean, at one point I got out of the car to see if I was still on the road! I drove 10 km/hr all the way there (took 2.5 hr when normally it was 45 min). Cars are equipped with snow tires and the snow is usually dry and roads are well salted. Plus most drivers are used to the snow.</p> <p>In Seattle -- hellllllll no. It's hilly, the roads are narrow, we don't use salt, and most importantly -- the snow usually turns to ice right away due to the temperature patterns. As soon as it snows, there are cars in ditches EVERYWHERE. Yeah, I had to be careful but I went to work. This is just for snow. If ice was involved I would be a bit more cautious. </p> <p>Now that I live in WA, snow terrifies me. The roads, the drivers… it can be such a disaster. If it doesn't happen during rush hour and it melts before I have to drive, then I'm fine with it. I have 4WD, my husband has AWD and we put snow tires on the cars in the winter. </p> <p>I actually don't mind driving in snow, it isn't that bad if you're used to it. Easier driving in snow than heavy fog or icy conditions! </p>
