I look forward to the age when I can do this with my LO. She's only 5 months old but she's so great in restaurants. We go out every once in awhile to get out of the house and she just takes in the scene quietly.

I think this is totally a personality thing with kids. No LO of my own, but when I was a nanny, the little boy I watched LOVED eating at restaurants, and always behaved so well! He was 2.

Our LO never liked to stay still, even when he was super little! If we stopped strolling him in his carseat, he would wake up from his nap! So going out to eat was always iffy for us. Now he's 10 months old, he can't sit in a high chair for too long before he wants OUT! Eating at home is the most comfortable. :(

We used to eat out at least a few times a week with RJ, especially on the weekends. After he got a little older (26 months now) it got to be such a pain that we mostly eat at home now.

We LOVE eating out with our LO. We stick her in her phil and ted's lobster and she has fun people watching. She smiles at everyone and eats a lot better when we're out. Even when she's tired. It's weird.

@BoogieBea: We've been so lucky this winter, barely any cold nights! My husband thinks I'm crazy because I always make us pick a restaurant my pup can go to, unless my mom is dog sitting. But then I still like to be outside since it's been so nice out. Hope you get nice weather soon!

@artbee: Can't wait for the weather to get nice again so we can bring our pooch with us. He gets so little attention now so he loves it when he can come along on excursions.

I loathe it, which is fine because our options are literally McDonalds or white tablecloth type places.

DS is self feeding, which means food everywhere and if he doesn't like it, he throws it on the floor, so yeah, we eat at home for now.

@BoogieBea: My LO hates attention so that's a tough part for us. People come over to ooh and aww and she screams at them.

We usually eat outside because we like to bring our dog, I feel less bad if LO is grumpy because we would just take her outside... but we're already there. It's usually just a more relaxed atmosphere.

We used to enjoy eating out with our son. We ate out on most weekends. He was well behaved, ate well and enjoyed the attention he got from people around us. It's now a mixed bag since he's pickier with food, likes to move around and we have a second child. But we still try to go out once a week though. We just have to time it right.

I don't mind it as long as he's in a good mood. When he's super grumpy I can't get out of places quick enough! For the most part, though, we don't eat out with him, we order in if anything.

I love it. Mainly because I'm stuck in the house all day and love to get out. LO seems to like it too, she's usually much happier when we eat out. At 6 months I'm often still holding her to keep her happy when we eat out, but I don't mind it. I either order finger food or just wait until my hubby is finished eating.

Yesterday I went out to lunch with my LO, my friend, and her 4.5 yo daughter. It was just us girls! We had such a pleasant time. I noticed that her 4.5 yo needed just as much attention at the restaurant as my 21 month old, though. Guess it takes a looooong time for kids to eat all on their own!

Anyway, afterwards we strolled around for a bit while each holding onto our daughter's hands. It was such a sweet few hours and I savored it because sometimes going out to eat with kids isn't very relaxing.

How are your dining experiences with your LO?
