UGH. All the time. I have zero legitimate excuses.

I will do a load of laundry first.
I should really study instead.
L hasn't fallen asleep yet, I'll do it once he falls asleep.
I need to eat breakfast!
I just ate breakfast.
I haven't had a minute to myself yet! Just 10 mins!
L will be up from his nap any second.
I might work out later with my friend!
Well, she can't work out, so we will do it tomorrow.
RIGHT after this rerun of L&O: SVU

yea... I could go on for daaaayz.

No, actually. If I don't go to the gym, that's on me. I don't make excuses. One of my pet peeves are people who say they have no time for exercise.

All too often unless I have a super dedicated goal I want to achieve. Then it takes like 5 minutes of self-pep talk while I'm laying in bed to get out and get to it.

My crossfit charges $15 if you sign up for a class and then skip it. I schedule all my classes for the week on sunday night. That is motivation enough for me!

I make excuses like...."if I can only get more than 3 uninterrupted hours of sleep, I can start working out again."

But you know, LO was up last night at 11, 1, 1:40, and 5 for the day. And once again i am so sleep deprived I can hardly brush my teeth before work, let alone exercise.

The only person I have to make excuses to is myself! I tend to talk myself out of working out - like, become overwhelmed with the logistics and then cop out. Like this morning, for example: I'm dropping E at daycare in 45 minutes and am working from home today. I have easily enough time to go to the gym or go for a run in between but there's no way I'd be seen in sweatpants dropping E off! So I think "I could take my stuff and change there", but then I realise I don't have £1 change for the locker..... or any water..... so I'd have to go to the shop on my way, which would take too much time and, ugh, I'll go tomorrow.....!

This morning I was heading out into the pouring rain to drop off our daughter for daycare. Just before I left, I remembered that I have a boxing class on Thursday mornings that I had forgotten about! I couldn't work out though, because our son's school was out today so I had to watch him.

I had promised the teacher I would be there, but immediately started thinking about how I would explain to him why I couldn't come. "Sorry, school was out today and so I had to watch my son and couldn't come to the class." I felt a sense of relief that I didn't have to work out after all!

Ugh then I remembered that the gym has built-in childcare for up to two hours. I was out of excuses! So I reluctantly changed out of my street clothes into exercise gear, grabbed my boxing wraps and ran to daycare dropoff so I could make it to the gym on time. It was a brutal workout, and my thoughts drifted a few times to how I could have avoided the whole thing if I had just stuck to my excuse!

Do you ever catch yourself making excuses as to why you can't work out?
