@littlejoy: I've done a similar thing before with cashews but not flax seed since I'm not opposed to eggs - I will have to give that a try! Thanks for the tip. :)

@Mamaof2: I wonder why?!?!? The lasagna I made tasted like it was made in the oven! I used my own recipe, but I followed the Crockin' Girls method.

@.twist.: yes, it is wonderful. Look up Crockin' Girls lasagna!

@coopsmama: Yep. So now, instead of ricotta, I make a version with cashews (the blender breaks them down into a ricotta texture) ... I use apple cider vinegar to give it that tartness of sour cream. Add a flax egg for binding, and s&p and spices. It's really good. It's really labor intensive though (lasagna, in general), but I am really excited to try it in the crock pot!

I usually like to make chicken noodle soup in my crockpot but I make the noodles separate and add them to the soup as portions are dished out. I don't like overcooked noodles in my soup, so that why I don't throw it in the crockpot. I think I've seen soup recipes that tell you to put the noodles in the last 15-30 of cooking.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I think I'll have to try that crockpot Lasagna. Awesome!

@coopsmama: It doesn't sound bad. We don't eat either anymore, but I used to do ricotta + eggs AND sour cream, because it was amazing.

Lasagna in the crock pot is delicious. @Rainbow Sprinkles: pretty much just gave my recipe although I do eggs and sour cream for the ricotta layer (it's better than it sounds  )

@littlejoy: oh my gosh, it is so easy. put your sauce at the bottom of the crock pot (just enough to cover the bottom), then your regular lasagna noodles (not the no boil kind), then your ricotta and whatever else and just keep layering. Cook on low for 8 hours. It is perfection and so much easier!

(My crock pot is round so I had to break up the noodles into pieces.)
