"I'll love you forever" usually gets me chocked up.

@mrs. 64: I'm a second grade teacher, too! I was reading aloud "the one and only ivan" and started choking up in front of them. I had read it twice before so thought I would be okay, but the pregnancy hormones took over.

Books related to babies (Someday, The Day You Were Born) are guaranteed tear jerkers these days.

I'll Love You Forever. Even though I read it and think it's kind of creepy, it still makes me teary eyed! My hormones are terrible lately! I cry at Disney movies all the time!

I seem to always lose it with Munsch's "Love you Forever." In fact, just read it to my daughter and needed to take breaks.

The first couple weeks I could not for the life of me get through "Ten Tiny Toes" because it's all about how those ten tiny toes grow up and have little babies of their own...all I could think about is how he is going to grow up and not need me anymore, lol. Thankfully, now that my hormones have settled I can get through the book without sobbing :)

I'm a second grade teacher and I have a handful of books that I read every year that make me a little choked up, but I usually maintain my composure.

Today I was reading Owen and Mzee: The Language of Friendship (nonfiction) to my class. When I got to the part where Owen the hippo's whole family died during the tsunami of 2004 and he was left stranded and alone, I suddenly got teary. I had to stop a minute and say "I just feel so sad for the hippo!" I told DH and he think's I've lost it. :)

What children's book makes you choke up?

P.S. The hippo book has a happy ending if you were worried!
