Our pediatrician said not to worry as long as he doesn't throw up. He eats a ton! People are always shocked when they seem him eat. I let him have as much fruit and veggies as he wants. I do cut him off on grains and protein. He already eats well over the recommended protein amount. Well, I guess he is actually over in all categories. The lactation consultant calculated he was drinking 6 ounces in one feeding at 2.5 weeks, so he has always loved food... He is only 60th percentile in weight though, so he must have a great metabolism. So if it's a spoon meal when I think she's had a lot I will give her the spoon to hold and play with. If she's more interested in hitting the spoon on things than more food, I know she's full. I have over fed DS before and he's thrown up so I like to do smaller meals and a little bigger snack. Like DS might have a cup of veggies and chicken for lunch then fruit, yogurt and crackers for a snack, so he's not so full that he doesn't want to play lol. I wonder if this is okay. I've heard people say that as long as she's eating and wanting more, I should keep feeding her until she stops. But I've also heard to just make a judgement call. What say you?
