LO was a major comfort nurser but used to spit up a lot so I would often unlatch her so she didn't overflow :-)

Now she's ten months old she pops herself off unless she's nursing down for sleep.

I did in the beginning if he nursed for more than 45 minutes. When he was cluster feeding in the evenings during weeks 6 & 7, he could have stayed on for hours if I let him! I would time 45 minutes, take a break for 20, then nurse again.

Rarely- only if we have to leave to go somewhere. She just gets pissed and gets fussy soon after, even if I know she is just comfort nursing. And she is so slow- I look forward to the seasons speeding up a little.

Most of the time. He comfort nurses and gets lazy with his latch. My nips can't handle it.

Only if she bites, if I need to use the restroom, or if I have to leave for an appointment/work.

@Smurfette: me too! I nurse ten minutes on each side at a time and I try to wait till LO breaks on her own but it usually doesn't happen.

Pretty much every time. It is super rare for her to pop off. Even if she falls asleep I have to take her off.

Rarely...usually only if I nursed her in the last hour and was only offering because we were headed out so she would be full until we returned.

not until recently. sometimes she'd fall asleep and just comfort nurse and it would take like 45 mins. now i just stick my finger in her mouth to break the suction, and end the session.

Rarely because she doesn't nurse very long. She usually ends them by wiggling away and replacing me with her thumb! :-)

or do you let LO eat until they stop or fall asleep?
