Once in a while we'll get mail for previous owners or just people who lived here previously. Just last week we got a package of of cheese and sausage thats not for us. Guess we'll just have to eat it ourselves.

Every now and then we get mail for the previous owners. Not a big deal for us though because they moved into a bigger house in our same neighborhood so I just put it in their mailbox when I go out for a walk.

About the previous residents, I think mail forwarding ends after a year. We're lucky that we used to live in high rise buildings and still see the mail carriers for those buildings, so they set aside any mail that shows up for us! I get annoyed by some of the mail that shows up here and isn't forwarded though...the guy had multiple lady friends using the address and I don't want to deal with their mail too.

We almost never get other neighbors' mail, but we get previous owners' mail all the freaking time. It's really annoying! Apparently the old owners rented out the house for a period, so not only do we get the owners, we get 4 or 5 renters' mail as well!

YES! That happened when we first moved here. I was nice enough to forward it for them since all I had to do what put their new address on it. A year later I got tired and started writing "return to sender." Then a while later the post office sent it back saying their forwarding has expired so basically told us to deal with it. I still get things from previous owners and now I just throw it away... I've gotten medical bills and I was nice enough to call the billing place to let them know. I hate it b/c we get so much junk to begin with already.

We live in an apartment so we have gotten the previous renters mail before, several times but it didn't look like anything important so I tossed it.

We get a lot of very important and official looking mail for the previous owner's son, but we have zero clue how to get it to him so we toss it. Oh well!

We live in a rental house so we get other people's mail all the time. If it looks important we'll try to forward it or return it. Otherwise, we recycle it if it's junk mail. The most irritating thing though is we've gotten some packages for the previous tenant. She'll just randomly show up to pick them up although she promises it won't happen anymore.

Ever since we moved to this house I seem to get a lot of misdelivered mail! A lot of it is for the previous owner (does he not have mail forwarding?) and a surprising amount is for our neighbors. I have to admit I've thrown away a Christmas card I got for a neighbor who is really rude to us, though I usually drop the mail off at people's homes. I'm kind of afraid something important will end up in the wrong hands someday!

Does this happen to you a lot? Do you try to give it to the right person?
