Thanks guys - my LO is usually so easy going and happy, that when he's grumpy like this, it sets everything in motion for a bad day, but I know I'm probably just spoiled cuz he's usually a pretty chill kid.

Uh yes! Hugh Jackmans recent quote on parenting truly resonated with me "Parents know you can't prepare for [becoming a father/mother]. Nothing can prepare you. "You can't even explain how incredible it is and that avalanche of emotion that comes and how it opens up your heart, how it frustrates you, how it angers you, how everything is just all of a sudden how alive you are as a parent."

Its a wild ride!

I think that is a myth perpetuated on us. We are human and we can only do so much. I think like childbirth many people forget the bad stuff. Any day that everything is still alive at the end of, I consider a good day.

I have absolutely had those days. Don't worry you are not alone. When my three were infants I would get so frustrated I gave myself mini breaks. Wen they were all screaming I would take a deep breath, calmly put them in their cribs and go into my room. I would listen to one song on my I pod with head phones so I couldn't hear them crying. One 3-4 minutes song was usually enough to reset me. My sister gave me that tip. She said don't worry they are safe in their cribs and nothing bad will happen to them. Just find something to help reset your mood

Sometimes, like today, we just have an "off-day", where he wakes up in a bad mood or is cranky, and everything seems to fall off schedule and feel out-of-synch. (This time, I'm pretty sure it's teething-related, but there isn't much I can do for him that I'm not already doing.).

And then I end up in a bad mood, have no energy to entertain LO, he gets crankier, and it just seems like a vicious cycle - end up counting the minutes til bedtime, so we can hopefully get a fresh start tomorrow.

Days like this make me question myself as a mama - aren't we supposed to have endless patience and be awesome all the time?
