@Periwinkle:  thanks peri. The latest was someone from dh's work and he thought it went great. Such a stressful and now awkward situation and dynamic! I also love my dog and spent years training her so (though not rational) I feel kind of offended :( I don't want to not have her in my life (had her before dh) so having a hard time placing her on top of that is really rough. She is a.maz.ing.

@edelweiss: thanks edelweiss! It has been a real nightmare. She has had two interviews and then got rejected from both homes. A total rollercoaster and it feels terrible. I am taking it really personally :(

@cascademom: I am trying to remember life is just like that- up and down. It helps to be reminded of that. I am glad yours is up and it helps to hear... sometimes I feel like the only one on earth in a crap time. I definitely need to get out and make some friends! (Because logically I know others have rough patches too..) just been so isolated here.

@grizz: :) things already are. We went and visited our new place last night and that helped a lot to see it. I am excited now that it feels more real. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. Attitude definitely pulls me through! Getting through January was just super rough... at least there is light on the horizon!

@MapleMoose: thanks maple! I appreciate that! I have such a hard time being vulnerable...

@MoonMoon: thanks moon! Yeah... what is with this winter?! I am not meant to be indoors. That's for sure! We talk about moving but it is enough on my plate just making things work here for now!

@Periwinkle: :) I had a friend who said she didn't recognize herself when she got depressed so that is what I was thinking of. I was like, "oh no, is there a legitimate mirror test? Should I go check myself out?" Haha! I am feeling a little better, thanks. And I have eaten so.many.cookies. I asked dh to take them away :) so I think that's a sign things are looking up. (Things are rough when I have no qualms about eating a bag of cookies...)

I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time, that's a lot on your plate. I think our babies are close in age, so I really hear you in how that raises the pressure. I also really struggle to feel good in the winter, and this winter is especially brutal, isn't it? I hope you and your LO feel better soon! Hugs!

We went through a rough time last year. It does get better with time. It sucks when you're in the middle of it, but once you're out of it, life improves.

@JennyD: @googly-eyes: he works at 6am, before the busses run!!!!!!! :( Otherwise he would be on that bus every.day. I know, it seems like we almost have to go through rain clouds to see the sunshine after :/ at the new place he plans to catch a ride with a coworker as it is closer to work and on.the.same.street! (Go me for picking a better place!) :)

@Mrs. Twine: thanks twine. Everything you said is helpful and true. Yesterday we got out and were a little active and LO had some huge milestones (sitting unassisted and letting us eat out and about- it was only scarfing sushi at whole foods but that was huge for us! She -up until now- has been very demanding) so it helps to celebrate those. I cried too and that actually helped! I appreciate the support and encouragement. Definitely a hard time, but I know I will keep working to make things better.

@Cherrybee: thanks for the kind moral support! It helps to hear others have come through some crap times too. I sometimes feel like the stress is almost necessary TO come out at a better place sometimes.

@beaker: I bet beaker. I know what you mean about just getting through. It is so hard, but kind of surprising how strong we are (?) It is like you just have to survive. I am trying not to be too hard on myself but that is in my nature. I love you and your LO. Love my chronic health support ladies! Oh, and yes, wonderful about the cookies! :) Thank you for reminding me of that. Every little happiness helps :) he lost his job as a designer and he is working at a local organic coop. Pretty great place to work in some respects.

I have definitely had some times where it seems nothing is going right and there is no end in sight. I think @jennyd's idea about driving your husband or having him take public transportation at least on occasion is a good one. Being cooped up sucks.

I agree, when it rains it pours.

We seem to go in cycles like that. When things get really tough, I try to remember that something awesome is probably around the corner.

Why don't you drive your husband to work? Then you could have the car. Or ask him to take transit a couple days a week? That would make me nuts.

That does sound very stressful. You're doing a great thing by being proactive. I find that yoga or doing something physical is really helpful to me in times of stress. And if there is any way to get any extra sleep (I know that would be hard with your husband being so busy with school/work and your lo not sleeping well) it can make such a difference in your outlook and how you feel generally. I agree that journalling can be useful on many levels. And finding or cultivating a support network. I know family isn't an option for you at this time, but if you have any friends you could reach out to it is always nice to have more people you can vent to and lean on when you need it. And of course we're here for you-- so that can be a good resource, too. :)

@NurseMommy: thanks for the encouragement. It is kind of ironic too that it seems in order to make things better I have to kind of go through a disaster area/ tunnel so-to-say... I just look forward to feeling like myself again! DD just gave me some super sweet snuggles before bed just now. Really helps :) Thanks for telling me it will make me stronger :)

@Periwinkle: thanks peri. Writing sounds like a great way to slow down, take a minute, and reflect. I think at least that investing right now in all of these changes really will eventually pay off. But golly. So much at once on so little and so exhausting. Do you metaphorically hold up a mirror or literally? :) Willing to try anything :) easy to just eat a lot of cookies. My husband brings home all of these amazing free cookies fresh baked from his job.

I am so sorry to hear about all that's going on for you right now. When it rains, it pours, right?

I have been in the type of situation (more than once) when it feels like nothing (and I mean nothing!) is going right all
at the same time. It takes every ounce of energy to get through it, and matters are only made worse by sleep deprivation.

I find that journaling helps a lot during these time. Or writing myself a letter. I know it sounds so simple, but it helps me to put things into perspective and also to prioritize. Also, the writing helps me to see what's working and what's just not working. Sometimes, it also helps me to hold a mirror up and see what I can do to be more active in making changes that will lead to more happiness.

Sending you the best during this tough time :) it sounds like you're doing an amazing job to make things better! Best wishes on your move.

Yep, definitely been through those trying times. They suck, don't they, especially when you feel like you'll never see the light at the end of the tunnel?

I am kind of freaking out :(

I think I just need to vent. LO had a health scare. We decided to move to a better place for her. To do so we must rehome my be.lov.ed. dog. I called my estranged mother and the results were not good. We have to move and find new tenant for current place. DH is GOING BACK TO SCHOOL and I am already alone with LO all day. Now when he is home he is slowly working on his computer. He wants to go to school part-time while working fulltime so it would take him ten years (no joke). He makes very little money. We are estranged from family. Our current place is not easy to get out with LO. We share my car (which means he takes it to work.) Ahhhhhh!

It is just a stressful time! I know I just have to get through it but it is hard not to go nutty and feel like I am wasting into a blob of cellulite. Plus the winter... I know at the new place I can be more active (lots to walk to, an elevator, better neighborhood)... but man right now is stressful! I know I have been through worse.

I have to reassess our school and work plans... And LO isn't big on sleep so we are super tired. And my couch broke :( It is just kind of a rough patch. :( I just look forward to being more balanced again.
