Oh yes, definitely. But that's how I know they did a good job working out the knots and loosening my muscles. I WANT to be sore the next day. Because once that soreness goes away, I feel 100x better.

I like massages that hurt afterwards, though. I only tend to go when I'm really tight/knotted up and I want someone to work those suckers out!

Like @kentuckygirl: said, it just depends on how much deep tissue they do. Since she said you had a bunch of knots and was really tight, I'm guessing she did some work on you to loosen it up. Drinking lots of water will help flush out the toxins/lactic acid.

I've had a few massages (not prenatal) and have been sore after each one! Not just in my shoulders but in my feet and calves too.

It depends on how deep tissue the massage therapist gets. I typically don't mind getting a little sore either, although sometimes I prefer a more relaxing massage. It does help to drink lots of water afterward.

Yes. I like feeling sore after my massages. It makes me feel like my muscles really got loosened up and I got money's worth!

Yes! Lots of pain. And I felt sick for three days after my first prenatal!

I had a prenatal massage yesterday and she really worked on my shoulders. She kept commenting that they were really knotted up and tight. Today they are a little sore. I'd had a few massages before this one and I had no pain afterwards so I was kinda surprised to wake up with sore shoulders.
