Yes! This last month has been rough. Broken AC, and tree fell on the house, so that was $3K. First day care payment. We also have R's baptism this month, so lunch for 50+ people are our house afterwards. And my family likes to drink, even during the day. Then I am throwing a baby shower in August that I have to start buying for. Not to mention getting the house ready for both events.

@regberadaisy: I understand, we had a rough year last year. New baby, new house, and DH got laid off.

Yes, June was one of them. It cost us $1800 to find out our pup was diagnosed with cancer and to put him down. And then more money because we decided to adopt a new puppy and of course she had to go to the vet too, and we had to buy her things like a crate.... which she promptly tore apart. This is on top of things like taking the car in, my two ER visits for migraines, etc.

um. Year? New house. Renovations. Baby. Laid off. Car problems. Car problems again for said car rendering it useless.

@MrsTiz: Yep it seems like we are always having to do some kind of repairs to our home, blah home ownership! So depresssing to see savings go so fast when you have worked so hard to build it up!

Yep, we had a really rough few months the past few months..all kind of home things were breaking and needing fixing so our savings got cut in half. :(

@Bao: ditto. we're basically paycheck to paycheck most weeks so months like we've been having make me want to move back home with my mom hah!

July is one of the worst months for us always (besides December), but we also need to renew our tabs, it's DH and I's birthdays plus everyone else we know seems to have a birthday in July. Everyone has things going on in the summer that we like to attend but all costs money (bring a dish, gift etc). Home repairs or car repairs seem to pop up every month. DH is the only one bringing in income and after taxes/401k/insurance he doesn't bring home a ton. So basically, we have a rough month every month. It seems like we live paycheck to paycheck.

So far July has been a huge money drainer for us! We had to get a complete new A/C installed, my car had to go in the shop, we have to renew our tags for the cars, and it seems like there is an unexpected bill popping in the mail every day! Our savings is dwindling fast.
