@Foodnerd81: That's a good way to look at it! Generally, I can fall back asleep easily, but last night was miserable.

Yeah, a couple of times a week at least. I lie there just waiting for her to wake up again, watching the clock and thinking grumpily "well, there's no point going to sleep now is there?" I think I work myself into a tiz about it and then I can't doze off.

Yes, but last night was the worst! M woke up around 1 and I nursed her and as I was burping her (she was already asleep) she took a big poo. So I had to change her which of course woke her up. Then as I was zipping up her zipadee zip she spit up all over herself! I had already been awake almost an hour by the time I put her back in her crib then it took me almost another hour to fall back to sleep :( I function with coffee!

Pretty much every time. I have gotten better but what I do now is keep my phone by the bed and go online to sort of destress if I can't sleep.

Ugh this is so me! I find it so hard to fall asleep after a night feeding. I always have to move to the living room and sleep on the couch. For some reason that helps me fall back to sleep. If she wakes up between 5/6am I can never fall back to sleep.

@rahlyrah: I'm the same way. At least once a week if not more, I'm just laying there awake. It's so so frustrating, but I try to tell myself that laying down is rest, even if it isn't as good as sleep. But then I look at Dh sleeping soundly and get irrationally annoyed. But yeah, I just can't turn my mind off sometimes and I get so annoyed at myself.

Sometimes. I just try to think of it like any rest is good. I can't lie in bed with my eyes close and relax when LO is awake so I should take it while I can. Then I eventually fall asleep anyway.

I've suffered from insomnia on and off my entire life. At least once a week, I have trouble going back to sleep after feeding B. I've been up since 3 am and am running on 3 hours sleep. I have no idea how I'm going to make until 10-11am when my husband wakes up!

Does anyone else have this problem? Any tips on how to function when you feel like a zombie?
