@littlek: He is too cute!

We don't have kids yet, but not too long ago we were visiting our friends who have an 18 month old who must have recently discovered hitting. He hit his mom and she told him that we don't hit and set him down on the floor. And as soon as she set him down, he turned around and hit his dad really really hard between the legs. My husband burst out laughing (admittedly, it was hilarious) and my friend had to give him her mean mommy face. The whole thing was pretty funny, but I have no idea what this means for us as future-parents. I have a feeling we're both going to be push overs!

ohh yeah. the little girls I nannied threw some seriously dramatic meltdowns. sometimes I actually did laugh out loud because they were THAT ridiculous, which either ended in them escalating and going to time out or them starting to giggle instead! but yeah..man, kids can be dramatic.

LO is only 5 months and can already throw a tantrum. I'm in for it. I took a bite of my bbq pizza the other night while she was on my lap, and I guess she had her mouth open (DH sits across) and she burst into tears and arched her back, when rigid, etc. Good lord. I'm in for it..

oh yes...sometimes the things that fly out of a 5 year old's mouth is pretty crazy when they're mad.

When he was a toddler, I would video record a lot of his tantrums, cause they were just ridiculous, and over something silly (like seeing a commercial for Chuck E. Cheese's, demanding to go, and the world ending when I say no.)

Sometimes, laughing instead of getting angry back is the best way for them to stop.

Yes. LO is the king of drama and most of his tantrums are so redicilous. Example. About 20 min ago I tried to read him a book. You would have thought the world was ending over here! He just wanted to "read" himself.

@autumnlove: Lol, DS has been throwing tantrums for almost two months now (I guess the second kid picks it up sooner!). It's sooooooo cute. :) He lays his little head on the floor and cries, "Mamamamamama!" I have to be careful to not laugh at him!

Yes. I have a hard time because I just think they look so ridiculous! (especially at 4 or 5 or 8!)

I have, on occasion, gotten on the floor and thrown my own whining/crying/arms flailing tantrum. They stop and stare at me and sometimes giggle. When I stop I tell them that's what they look like. Usually ends there.

My LO officially moved to the young toddler room yesterday after a few weeks of half day visits. She was sooo worn out when we got home and she was ridiculously difficult...back arching, throwing purées, drama tears, she used her little arm and swept everything off her high chair tray. It was really annoying and hilarious at the same time.
