we aren't quite to that stage yet, but I have a funny story to share. Well, funny to me because it didn't happen to me, but pretty gross...

My friend was visiting her mom, and her mom suggested she let LO run around without a diaper on. She had some theory about this helping potty train LO.

Well, LO ran around the house without a diaper -- and pooped, as she ran, so now there is poo in several rooms in the house (including on the ceramic tile and carpeting). Then., as if this wasn't bad enough, the dog starts chasing after baby and EATING the poop.

Suffice to say, baby wears a diaper at all times. My friend is obviously trying something ELSE to potty train LO.

Just before bath, I let her go from her room across the hall to the bathroom without a diaper. Our entire house has carpet so I'm not sure how we're going to potty train (DH is anti-pullup).

My mom also likes to let LO's girly parts breath! She takes her time diapering LO for that reason. And because LO will roll over and crawl away before she's done.

Yeah, we did naked time with DD, and we will DS, too. I think it's good for their skin to get a little diaper-free time.

Yup we have nakey time regularly, especially if her bum is red at all. She has peed on the floor but luckily always on the wood part so it's not a big deal to clean up.

Mavrick always pees as soon as we remove his diaper and let him "free" even if he just pees this child knows how to concentrate and pee. Clearly that's good when it comes time to potty train but right now he's not interested what so ever.

He peed on my MIL floor as we were prepping him for a bath. haha.

LO is shy of 9months so is not potty-trained but when my mom changes her diaper, she insists that LO be left without a diaper for at least a few minutes to "breathe down there", as you put it. I have to admit, it must feel refreshing to be nekked!

I plan on having LO walk around without her diaper when I potty train her. :P We have wood floors so hopefully she won't make too much of a mess.

We do sometimes, right after he pees... Bee's mom is especially big on letting things "breathe" down there.

Today he was running around sans diaper and he said, "Now I pee" and started peeing on the floor (not on carpet, thank goodness). I stopped him and put him on the potty and he went. It got me thinking that maybe we should let him wear pullups or something.

Well in any case, we definitely have to get serious about potty training since he definitely knows what the potty is and wants to use it but just keeps forgetting.
