Nope, we have a shelf that they go on, however I'm sure at some point it is bound to happen!

Ugh. Yes. I thought I was like 30 bucks in the hole once when I thought we lost several books. Turns out that they had the wrong email on file and I never received notice that I have books overdue. In the end, we did find them. I keep them now in a separate library bags hanging on each of their doors. My son takes books out from the school library also so those are in a separate bag. This way, I'm always reminded of them whenever I pass by their bedrooms.

@autumnlove: So smart!!

The challenge for us is that like @Mrs. Pen:'s son, our daughter loves to bring library books into her room. Hmm, maybe we can designate a special library shelf in her room! Will have to try that out...

We keep library books in the livingroom in his library bag (it's one of those reusable grocery bags) and keep his books in his bedroom. It helps to keep them separate. He will often bring a library book into his room so we have to be cautious of that - I usually don't realize until I've received the late fee though then I have to track it down! I'm really bad at returning all his books on time - we check out up to 20 at a time! BUT my friend gave me a good perspective on this - late fees are supporting our local libraries! They're not-for-profit so they need funding to come from somewhere ;) I told the librarian that and she laughed.

I have lost a movie from the library before - that was awful! I had to pay the lost DVD fee which is about $25. I never found it either, even when we moved from that apartment. It may have been swiped from the car - cause our car was broken into while we lived there.

No, I am very paranoid about it. I have one shelf dedicated for library books and I count and look for them if the number is off.

I have returned my books late...just paid a $15 fine! :-(

Ugh. With a toddler it is so hard!!! None of us are very good at organizing and our library books always get mixed in with our books. We need to find one that is overdue, too!!!

We have four library books at home that we have to track down asap to avoid late fees. Pretty sure we can find them tonight with a concerted effort... crossing fingers! We need a better system for keeping our library books separate from our other books.

Do you ever lose library books? How do you keep library books from getting mixed into your other books?
